True Detective Season One Review

Alright, I have no sarcastic comments, no grandiose proclamations, I just want to talk about this unbelievably brilliant show.

So True Detective is a show that began airing on HBO this past January, and since I am not a subscriber to HBO, I just got into it now after it’s been released on iTunes, DVD and people have put the recordings of the DVD online. Mostly that last one.

So I had actually never seen an HBO show before this one. (John, you gotta watch Game of Thrones! Yeah, yeah I know…) I also knew that HBO makes absurdly good content. I mean The Sopranos is widely considered the best show ever, Game of Thrones is really hyped up, but I think True Detective was a really good place for me to start. Probably because I’m really into crime shows, and thought that the two main stars gave some credibility.

Community Review

In every sense of this statement, I believe Community is the greatest show to ever air on television, period. Yes Breaking Bad is the second best, and I’ll review that eventually, but really, Community is the greatest show of all time in my opinion. And here I am, setting enormous expectations, to convince you guys to go watch it!

So Community is a show that aired on NBC and was really the comedy to compete with. In a time where network television comedies were totally flatlined, seeing a show that was as original and creative as this one can just be so refreshing. This was of course at a time right after the first season, where the show wasn’t completely off-the-rails and NBC didn’t cancel any show with more than one episode. But let’s examine Season 1 to start, and why the show’s premise can be captivating.

How I Met Your Mother Review

How I Met Your Mother does a great job of combining its two central themes: romance and hilarity. I wish I could do as good a job combining my two central themes about it: appreciation and distaste.

Following that, I will start off by saying: this is a very good show, a great show even. It had its missteps though, and I’ll get to those. First, I’ll discuss the elements of the show that work. What really sells How I Met Your Mother is the cast and the premise.
