Dead Poets Society Review

Dead Poets Society absolutely blew me away.

I had never seen Dead Poets Society before, but after the passing of Robin Williams, I decided to review a film of his that I already loved (Good Will Hunting) and see one I had not previously viewed. I would say Dead Poets Society is at the caliber of Good Will Hunting, if not above it.

Good Will Hunting Review

As I’m sure you have all heard by now, yesterday Robin Williams very unfortunately passed away. It really is terrible, as he was one of the most talented and inspirational actors of the past generation. The passing of celebrities is a very tough subject, as I want to respect their memories, so instead of discussing Robin Williams’s work at length, I decided to remember him and celebrate his body of work by re-watching and reviewing my favorite performance by him. I have actually never seen Dead Poet’s Society, but will watch it tonight and get a review out soon. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) Review

The Newsroom Season One Review

In terms of television, this show reminds me very much of Man of Steel. Not in regards to premise, nor direction, nor acting, but in terms of criticism. Anybody I’ve heard online either loves this show or hates this show or loves to hate it, or hates that they love it. It’s gotten so much criticism and I can understand why, but in terms of a television program, it really is one of the most fascinating shows we’ve had in recent history.

The Newsroom is about the team behind a popular cable news show, and all of the drama that goes on to make their show possible. And it’s brought to us by the mastermind behind The Social Network Aaron Sorkin. I was going to publish my Social Network review before this, but what you need to know is that I think its script was a masterpiece. It’s one of my favorite movies all of time, and it’s in my Top 5 scripts of all time. That being said, what could possibly go wrong here?

Sony Launching Female-Led Spider-Man Spinoff

Yesterday, Sony announced that it would be developing a spin-off to their Amazing Spider-Man franchise with a female hero in the forefront. Before I make a one-line summary, here are two statements: I am NOT a misogynist, and I AM a fan of the Amazing Spider-Man movie series. With that being said, I will now tell you why this idea, from my opinion, is not a good one.
