The Avengers: Age of Ultron Teaser Review

I promise, I’ll get back to actually reviewing movies soon, but how can I when the age of movie trailers and news is so heavily in effect!

Yeah, we were all wondering how Marvel would out-do DC’s slate of a bajillion movies in the next six years, and here it is friends.

This trailer looks like Age of Ultron is about to improve upon the original Avengers in every way possible. Let me make it clear: I loved the first Avengers. After Iron Man 3 and Guardians (maybe or maybe not in that order), it’s my favorite Marvel movie. 5/5, it’s done. That being said, people really get on my case when I say the Avengers was a very simple movie that wasn’t all that deep. I still loved it.

But this trailer, friends, it looks to improve upon that! This trailer makes Avengers 2 look much darker and have a lot more character emotion and depth than the original Avengers. Not only that, but the scope of the action looks way more enormous! Ultron looks so menacing and creepin’, I can’t wait to see James Spader play the role that I was hoping he would get.

I’m actually really excited because of how little I know about this movie. You take a movie like Batman v. Superman and, let’s face it: when Zack Snyder takes a dump of set, there’s a huge press release about it. I’m really excited of how little we actually know about this movie going in.

And that’s my cue to speculate! I’m going to try to keep this brief, but what I’m hoping happens in Avengers: Age of Ultron is the introduction of Black Panther, Ms. Marvel and other smaller superheroes. It would explain a lot of the worldliness the film has and it would have plenty of secret identities for the Superhero Registration Act.

Which leads me to my next point: the conflict between Thor/Stark and Hulk/Stark, not to mention Cap’s broken shield at the end (which we heard about at SDCC and it looks so great!), I think Civil War is gonna start at the end of this movie. Then it will carry through and go on in Cap 3, and maybe conclude in Avengers 3. Because, if you look at it: none of the slated/rumored Marvel movies after Captain America 3 are sequels. They’re all new properties or related to the cosmic universe. Everything can just carry through, no questions asked.

But there’s my tangent.

Anyway guys, this trailer looks so epic and dark and menacing. I’m so amped for Avengers 2 now, more so than I already was. In all seriousness, it really is a great time to be a movie fan and a comic book nerd, and I can’t wait to see what Marvel’s got lined up for us from here on in!  (But now we also need DC to counter by announcing a standalone Ben Affleck Batman!)
