How Marvel Phases 4-6 Can Avoid Jumping the Shark

It’s no secret, I am a big fan of Marvel superhero movies. And it seems like recently there’s been a lot of news about casting and news from the set of Avengers 2 and all that good stuff. As you guys know, I’m pretty excited for Marvel’s Phase 3, but that got me thinking: what will they do after Phase 3?

Now here we are. First, a disclaimer: I do not read Marvel Comic Books or any comic books (though I am will read Batman: The Long Halloween graphic novel to celebrate 75 years of the character). Any ideas I have here are either rumors I’ve heard online, or other speculation sites’ ideas.

So now let’s get into it. What are my thoughts on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well I like to think of Marvel a lot like Breaking Bad: it is flawless so far (yeah go to the comments all you Iron Man 3 haters) and it will end before it drags on. In my personal predicting head, I think that Marvel will bring in Thanos for Avengers 3, and wrap up there with Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man, etc. However, if Marvel does decide to continue the Universe through an Avengers 4, I think that they should only do new heroes or Phase 3 sequels, no Captain America 4, no 4: The Dark World. I would love to see an Iron Man 4, but I think that Marvel has a plan that does not include one for the time being. But anyway, I think that if Phase 3 doesn’t wrap up Thanos, than Phase 4 will. And in Avengers 4, it would be Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye (though I still think he’ll die in Age of Ultron), Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Nick Fury, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, and then a bunch of the newer heroes like Ms. Marvel, or Black Panther for instance. There were also rumors a couple weeks ago that Sony and Marvel might be making a deal to co-finance some future projects, including Avengers 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 3, meaning that Andrew Garfield could be Spider-Man in Avengers 3 or 4. I actually did a video post on this, it’s one of two video reviews I did, and I criticized the news saying the storylines would make it unlikely, but I’ve moved past that now and think it would be awesome to even see a cameo!

But those are my thoughts on how Marvel should avoid drawing these current characters. After that, I think that they’ll probably try to start over and build new heroes in the same universe as Avengers 1-3 or 4, but all new heroes are the centers of attention, and they all have to band together like the original Avengers. Bam. New trilogy. It would be very unwise on the part of Marvel to continue trying to draw out something like Captain America after Avengers 3 because there really is only so much you can do with the guy. He’s in a comic book for a reason. And there are so many comics and characters out there, I’d be excited to see any new ones coming to the big screen.

But let’s not kid ourselves, no matter what creative decisions Marvel makes regarding Phases 4-6, they’re probably gonna be well thought-out and, hey, myself and millions of other people will still see them either way.

Okay guys, so those are my thoughts on how Marvel should avoid over-doing themselves on their Phases 4-6, but then again, what do I know? I want to hear what you guys think on this matter and who your favorite Marvel superhero right now is. Whatever those answers may be, let me know down below and as always, thanks for reading guys.
