The Office Review

Preface

  • So guys, movies are my primary thing, but every now and again there’s a TV show that I check out for the first time, binge watch, and then REALLY want to talk about.
  • And over the past month or so, I watched The Office, which aired on NBC from 2005 to 2013.
  • And I swear to God, this is one of the best comedy series I have ever seen.

Arrow Seasons 1 and 2 Review

Preface

  • Man, it has been a WHILE since we’ve done some TV talk here on My Movie Thoughts!
  • And there IS a reason for that.
  • Movies are great, they’re my favorite thing. Movies are also easy, they’re much less time-consuming.
  • TV takes a lot of time to watch. If I’m reviewing a bad movie, I just have to sit through for 90 minutes or two hours, then rant about it, and go back to the theater the next week to hopefully see something better.
  • With TV, I’m not gonna sit through something for 6-10 seasons if it’s mediocre just to do a review. (Unless that show is Parks and Rec, ohhhh burn!) Unless I hear great things and enjoy the first few episodes, then I’m not gonna spend my time on it, when I could be watching a bunch of movies or hanging out with my friends instead.
  • But…. There are still a few shows that I do watch on a week-by-week basis. The Walking Dead, and Better Call Saul.
  • Arrow hasn’t elevated to that category yet because I binged Seasons 1 and 2 during November of last year, and Season 3 was already about halfway over and I didn’t feel like catching up til it was on Netflix.
  • Well today, Season 3 is on Netflix, so here are my thoughts on a show that I DO definitely recommend you spend your time on!
    • I’ll start watching Season 3 tonight then immediately regret everything I’m about to say…

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Seasons 4-7 Review

Preface

  • Alrighty guys, if you haven’t already checked out my Review on Seasons 1-3 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, click here to check it out first, then come back here to check out Part 2, the conclusion to the series!
  • And the reason I do 2 reviews is because Seasons 1-3 were FANTASTIC television and though Seasons 4-7 were all good… That’s all they were was decent and okay.
  • I’ll go into each season (like I did in Part 1), but just know that this is a positive review, though I have more complaints with this half than I did with the first part of the show.
  • No Spoilers for Seasons 1-7, or any part of the show here!

True Detective Season 2 Premiere Review

Preface

  • I try not to do episodic reviews of shows because I don’t watch a ton of shows that air week-to-week, I prefer the binge-style format, and when I do, I’m usually proven wrong.
    • Full Season 5 of Walking Dead Review will be up soon…
  • But True Detective is the show, okay.
  • If you guys don’t know how much I love True Detective, check out my Review of Season 1 here first of all. And when it comes to single seasons of television, the two I currently hail as the greatest single seasons of all time, the ones I reference in prayer to the TV gods are Breaking Bad Season 5 and True Detective Season 1.
  • I loved the first season of True Detective so much that I literally lent my DVD of it to my English teacher! (Who also loved it.)
  • Therefore, going in, I wasn’t expecting Season 2 to be nearly as good but this first episode was very decent overall.

Premise

  • So True Detective is a show on HBO that began airing last year in Season 1 with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
  • But it’s an anthology style show, so Season 2 has a brand new cast and a brand new case to be solved.
  • Among that new cast is Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch, and Vince Vaughn.
  • And this first episode is mainly setting up these characters for the rest of the season, not dealing too much with the case.
  • And even though I won’t be including too many spoilers, I’m gonna issue an official SPOILER WARNING.
  • So if you haven’t seen this episode, feel free to check it out, I do recommend it, then come back and read the rest!

Better Call Saul Season 1 Review

Preface

  • Welcome back to TV Time on My Movie Thoughts.
  • But this show I’m reviewing? In 10 episodes, Better Call Saul has earned its spot as my favorite show currently on TV. Seriously.

Premise

  • Better Call Saul is a prequel series to Breaking Bad, and follows the crooked lawyer Saul Goodman, before he was Walt and Jesse’s lawyer.
  • But honestly, you don’t need to have watched Breaking Bad to start watching/loving this show, because this show is not remotely like Breaking Bad.
  • And don’t worry, no spoilers lie here.
