Joy Review

Preface

  • Joy is a new movie starring Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, and Bradley Cooper. Among others.

The Hateful Eight Review

Preface

  • The Hateful Eight is the newest movie from writer/director Quentin Tarantino and it stars Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and others.
  • And this movie is ultimately an old-timey western that brings in a whodunit aspect in the second-half.

The Big Short Review

Preface

  • The Big Short is a movie starring Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell, Brad Pitt, and a whole bunch of other guys.
  • It’s directed by Adam McKay, the director of Anchorman and a ton of other Will Ferrell comedies.
  • And although this movie is funny, it’s definitely not a comedy. It’s this fresh and energetic look at the minds who predicted the 2007 Housing Crisis.
  • And this movie is really enjoyable, albeit not perfect.

Sisters Review

Preface

  • And I did not have high expectations going into this movie. The trailers looked terrible, I didn’t know much about the creative team, and it seemed like a joke that this thing was coming out the same weekend as Star Wars.
  • But the movie wasn’t as terrible as I thought it would be. That being said, it still wasn’t good…
