Deadpool Comic-Con Trailer Review

Preface

  • Comic-Con this year man, putting out a ton of absurdly cool trailers!

Premise

  • Alright guys, so this weekend at Comic-Con a trailer for the X-Men spinoff Deadpool was shown and I was already excited for this movie before, but this trailer shows even more and makes you even more confident about the R-Rating.
  • (I’m not gonna do a post on the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer just cuz I didn’t watch any trailers before I saw Days of Future Past and I wound up loving that movie, so hopefully I get a repeat! And maybe I’m just superstitious…)
  • And yes, sorry but this is the best quality I could find. It’s pretty watchable though.

Suicide Squad Comic-Con Teaser Review

Preface

  • Deadpool Teaser Review coming shortly after this, but wow.
  • Just wow.

Premise

  • Okay, so as many of you all reading here know: I am a big fan of comic-book/superhero adapted movies and also as many of you know DC’s next property after Batman v. Superman is Suicide Squad.
  • For those who don’t know, the Suicide Squad is like a militarized team of supervillains and antiheros who run operations for the government in return for their freedom or the wiping clean of their record.
  • Then we got the first trailer for it at Comic-Con this weekend.

Project Almanac Review

Preface

  • Project Almanac is one of those January movies that I wanted to see, but didn’t really get a chance to because I was catching up on all the Oscar movies.
  • But also, all I knew was that a trailer for this thing played before Anchorman 2 and it was getting PUSHED. BACK.
  • Which probably wasn’t a good sign…
  • Luckily this thing wasn’t a complete disaster though.
  • (It still wasn’t great.)

Premise

  • So Project Almanac is a found-footage sci-fi movie about this group of high school seniors who discover that their group leader’s dad was a scientist developing a time machine.
  • And the movie is very split in almost every area, which I’ll explain specifically in each section.

Batman v. Superman Comic-Con Trailer Review

Preface

  • Okay, so last year when the 30 second teaser for this movie dropped at Comic-Con, I was like “yeah that looks pretty cool. Can’t wait to see more.”
  • Then earlier this year when the first teaser dropped, I was like “ehh, it looks really flashy and kinda sloppily thrown together… The next one had better impress be awesome.”
  • And folks, I can successfully tell you that this trailer not only met, not only surpassed, but obliterated my expectations.
  • I can now say I am 100% on board for Batman v. Superman.
  • THIS TRAILER WAS SO COOL!

The Boy Next Door Review

Preface

  • So the other day I was looking through the list of movies I had seen thus far in 2015 and despite all the bad buzz a lot of movies had gotten, I realized that I haven’t seen many AWFUL movies.
  • I’ve seen four movies so far that I would qualify as my Top 4 of the Year, as of now, and I’ve seen MANY mediocre, average, and meh movies.
  • A LOT of those.
  • But now there are two movies (including this one) that I can successfully say are pretty terrible…
  • Not as bad as I thought though!
